Francis has set a price.

If you want him to take someone specific or avoid taking someone specific, it's a 1st and a 3rd.

Otherwise he's taking the best player you've left available.

That would be really bad if they lose McCann.

Didn't see Carter either. Guessing if true maybe he did threaten retirement if picked.

Tanev is a 3rd liner playing 3rd line minutes. Our "4th liners" actually play a large role and you can't just put anyone there unless you want them to be an actual 4th line that you have to hide.

That said I still wouldn't protect him over other options.

Exposing Tanev at McCann's expense would cause me to lose a lot of faith in Hextall and Burke. Tanev is a 4th line player. McCann is a low end 2nd line, high end 3rd line player who is young, relatively cheap, and I think has a lot of good hockey left.

Losing McCann for nothing would be worse than losing Zucker for nothing...

Hextall has all but confirmed he isn’t working a side deal. That said, doesn’t sound like we would even have the assets to pull it off if that ask it correct.

I would keep Tanev all day. Hopefully they can trade McCann or insure Zucker is Seattle’s pick.

If there was a stat that described shifting of momentum you would see Tanev near the top of that stat. If these lists are real then this is another fine move.

I'm not worried about this.

EDIT: I can't read. He clearly says "what I heard", so its not just him speculating if he's not making things up. Its Rossi, so I'm not gonna stress too much about it, but also don't like this floating around either. He also followed up with a tweet that his sources say the Kraken are not interested in Zucker, Carter, Matheson, Pettersson, or Jarry. Really hoping Rossi's just full of poop today.

On the scale of credibility, an unnamed source usually ranks close to zero.

If McCann is being left available it is because they have a side deal, but Hextall is saying he hasn't been working on a side deal with Seattle. Probably just a clickbait article.

Will be interesting to see if there is much more jockeying for protection over the next day or so. Arvidson and Graves have moved so far. I'd expect other moves to be made still.
